Terms of Use
At MyTalkIndia, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive space for emotional counselling. We request all users to adhere to the Terms of use outlined below while interacting with our trained counsellors:
1. General Conduct
- No abusive, aggressive, or foul language should be used towards our counsellors.
- Users must maintain a respectful and appropriate tone at all times. This includes refraining from screaming (using all caps), threatening language, insults, slurs, or any form of harassment.
- Counsellors must be addressed professionally. Use of non-professional terms such as familial or romantic terms (including but not limited to sister, brother, mother, sweetheart, darling) is not permitted.
- Users must not coerce or pressure counsellors to extend chat durations beyond the allotted session time.
- Users must not coerce or request counsellors to engage in behavior that causes discomfort. This includes, but is not limited to, requests such as:
- No personal questions should be directed toward counsellors. This includes, but is not limited to, questions about their age, location, appearance, relationship status, religion, or personal life.
- Sexist, sexually suggestive, or explicit remarks or behavior are strictly prohibited.
- Any form of sexual behavior during chat sessions is not permitted.
2. Respecting Boundaries
- Users must respect counsellors’ professional boundaries, including boundaries related to time, communication style, and self-disclosure.
- Counsellors have the right to redirect, pause, or terminate a session if boundaries are violated.
- Users are expected to engage in counselling collaboratively. They may politely agree or disagree with counsellors but must do so respectfully.
- Users are encouraged to follow through with agreed-upon action steps or follow-up plans discussed during sessions.
3. Chat-Based Counselling Guidelines
- MyTalkIndia is a chat-based counselling service, not an instant messaging or social chat platform.
- Users are expected to be patient and understanding of response times within a live session.
- Sending unsolicited content such as images, videos, audio files, links, or screenshots is not permitted unless explicitly requested by the counsellor.
- Any misuse of the chat feature, including spamming, repeated inappropriate messages, or violation of conduct guidelines, may result in suspension or termination of services.
4. Policy Enforcement
- Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, session termination, suspension, or permanent restriction from using MyTalkIndia services.
- MyTalkIndia reserves the right to take necessary action on a case-by-case basis to ensure the safety and well-being of counsellors and users.
